Thai massage

Thai massage uses gentle rocking motion while working pressure points and applying yogic stretching to the body.  Movements are flowing and harmonious, creating a deeply soothing yet energizing effect for the client and the therapist.  The client, fully dressed, is gracefully guided into comfortable yoga stretches coupled with relaxing compression upon major muscle groups.  Also know as Thai yoga bodywork, the Thai massage system powerfully integrates the most therapeutic aspects of acupressure and yoga to leave the client feeling wholly transformed in body, mind, and spirit.

Swe-Thai

Is a blend of Traditional Thai massage and advanced soft tissue therapies. It also incorporates passive Yoga style stretching. A session is 90 minutes long and has numerous benefits including alleviation of pain and muscle tension, deep relaxation, and improved flexibility and circulation.

Ashiatsu massage

The root word “Ashi” means "foot" and "Atsu" means "pressure", so together they symbolize foot pressure.  This barefoot massage technique uses deep compression effleurage strokes that glide over the body. It combines flowing centrifugal and centripetal push, pull, pumping movements which can create a structural change in chronic soft tissue damage.  The therapist supports herself with wooden bars suspended from the ceiling while applying different foot strokes along the body.  Using the pressure of the therapist's feet on strategic points along the back and spine, a push-pull-pumping affect is created on the soft tissue that surrounds the muscles and inter-vertebral disc space.

Reiki

Commonly known as Universal Life Energy, helps to harmonize body, mind and spirit. involves the transfer of energy from practitioner to patient to enhance the body's natural ability to heal itself through the balancing of energy. Reiki utilizes specific techniques for restoring and balancing the natural life force energy within the body. It is a holistic, natural, hands-on energy healing system that touches on all levels: body, mind, and spirit.

The treatment is done fully clothed laying comfortably on a table while the healer holds his hands on or above you.  There is no pressure on the body making it ideal for treating all ages and conditions, sometimes hands are even held away from the body. The energy flows wherever it is required and can normally be felt as a warm sensation or tingling in the body. Receiving Reiki is a very relaxing and soothing experience!

Swedish massage

Swedish massage is a slow rhythmic massage designed to relax and stimulate oxygen flow in the blood.  It uses a firm but gentle pressure to improve the circulation, ease muscle aches and tension, improve flexibility and create relaxation.  Designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart.

Deep tissue massage

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage but the pressure will generally be more intense. It is also a more focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or knots (also known as "adhesions.")

Couples massage

Consider just how much more amazing a massage will feel when you share it side by side with the one you love.  There are two different therapists involved, allowing the couple to experience simultaneous pampering.   The massage it's customized to your needs.

Lymphatic massage

Lymphatic massage or lymph drainage massage is a technique used to help increase lymph flow. Increased lymph flow removes harmful substances from the tissues and increases immune function.  Can be useful in cases of edema, sports injury or for people experiencing a sluggish immune system or those suffering from a lack of energy.

The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in your body’s ability heal from injury and ward off disease. It is essential to the body's drainage system for cleansing and filtering out toxins and bacteria.  Lymphatic massage can help to unblock the lymph system by manually cleansing the lymph system in a clockwise fashion.

Hot stone massage

A hot stone massage creates a sense of warmth and comfort from water-heated basalt lava stones of varying sizes that are applied to key points on the body. The heat from the stones helps to loosen and soothe tightened muscles, allows cares and stress to melt away and relaxes the body at the deepest level. This experience is the ultimate in body, mind and soul connections.

Reflexology massage

Reflexology is the practice of massaging the feet.  Areas on the foot correspond to areas of the body, and by manipulating these one can improve health through one's qi.  Physiological changes in the body can be brought about by applying pressure to stimulate these areas and zones.  Is based on the principle that the feet, hands and ears are microcosms (mini-maps) of all systems of the body. Specific manual pressure to any of the microcosms stimulates the corresponding part (reflex) of the body as well as the nervous system. Focused stimulation of the reflexes helps release stagnant toxins, thereby reducing stress on the body. This in turn helps improve circulation, restore energy flow and vitality to all systems of the body and promote internal balance.

Scalp massage

Scalp massage is a great way to promote scalp circulation and boost healthy hair growth.  Not only does the massage work wonders for your hair, but it also relaxes the mind and nervous system.  It helps enhance blood circulation in the head and neck area. When the scalp is “tight” from stress, circulation and hair growth are impeded.

Prenatal massage

Is a form of therapeutic bodywork that is geared to meet the unique needs of the pregnant woman. Promoting better function of muscles and joints, prenatal massage also improves circulation and overall body tone. Additionally, prenatal massage decreases mental and physical fatigue as well.
Mutually beneficial, by having regular prenatal massage therapy, mothers are more relaxed; thus allowing the new life inside to be nourished. Prenatal massage is usually begun during the 2nd and/or third trimesters of pregnancy. While lying on her side, a pregnant woman can be massaged on her side, in a semi-reclining position, and even on her belly, with the use of a specially-designed pillow.

Neuromuscular massage

Neuromuscular therapy consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on the areas of muscle spasm. The massage therapy pressure is usually applied with the fingers, knuckles, or elbow. Once applied to a muscle spasm, the pressure should not vary for ten to thirty seconds.

Muscles that are in spasm will be painful to the touch. The pain is caused by ischemic muscle tissue. Ischemia means the muscle is lacking proper blood flow, usually due to the muscle spasm. This in turn creates the following undesirable process:
  • Because the muscle is not receiving enough blood, the muscle is also not receiving enough oxygen

  • The lack of oxygen causes the muscle to produce lactic acid

  • The lactic acid makes the muscle feel sore following physical activity.

After the muscle is relaxed through massage therapy, the lactic acid will be released from the muscle, and the muscle should start receiving enough blood and oxygen.

Neuromuscular therapy will feel painful at first, but the pressure of the massage should alleviate the muscle spasm.

On-site chair massage
